Resumo
Este artigo destaca o papel da abertura técnica dos REA. Além da abertura legal, condição fundamental para que os materiais consigam cumprir o propósito para que foram construídos, impõem-se que os REA sejam elaborados com abertura técnica, condição que lhes deixa livres de constrangimentos impostos pela utilização de software proprietário. Trata-se de um alerta para o facto de professores e alunos, condicionados culturalmente, utilizarem software proprietário na realização da maioria das tarefas digitais. Esta circunstância pode limitar a futura reutilização dos materiais construídos sob risco da sua livre reutilização estar sempre condicionada pelo formato de ficheiro em que os mesmos foram construídos.

Abstract
This article highlights the role of OER technical openness. In addition to legal openness, which is a fundamental condition for the materials to fulfill the purpose for which they were built, OERs must be designed with technical openness, a condition that leaves them free of the constraints imposed by the use of proprietary software. It is an alert that teachers and students, culturally conditioned, use proprietary software to accomplish most digital tasks. This circumstance may limit the future reuse of built materials at risk of their free reuse being always conditioned by the file format in which they were built.
